Background, 1904;

One hundred years ago in Wales, the national newspapers were reporting a ‘Sensation’. A young man 26 years old who had spent most of his life as a coal miner was now leading a great Revival. God took this young man and used him to reach many thousands of people. The effects were to be felt for generations afterwards and impacted many nations such as the USA, India and Korea, through the faithfulness of missionaries who travelled from Wales. “A Diary of Revival” recounts, in the words of Evan Robert’s himself, the events, emotions and inspiration that led to his involvement in the Great Welsh revival of 1904. 

Chapels needed crowd control,

Services lasted through the night,

Drunkards sobered up,

Debts were repaid,

Enemies were reconciled

Judges were out of work (due to there being no criminal trials).

Pit ponies failed to understand their converted master’s gentler language,

even sport was neglected as football and rugby teams gave up playing for prayer! Revival fire was spreading throughout Wales!

Message for 2007

1904 Ltd was formed in order to tell the story of this move of God in a contemporary way. By producing a film and two books about the story of Evan Roberts, the team at 1904 Ltd seek not only to paint an accurate picture of the past but to encourage Christians to pray and work towards a renewal of Gods work in this generation. Kevin Adams, author and speaker, Huw Priday, operatic and concert singer, Tony Waters, film producer, Emyr Jones, co-author and technician, Paul Griffiths UK co-ordinator and Dr Steve Price, retired physician and co-ordinator of USA operations form the team that regularly undertakes  programmes of live events, TV, radio and press interviews both in the United Kingdom and the USA.  Media interest has kept the team busy and has enabled them to reach tens of thousands of people with the Christian message.
